"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I'm really disappointed in what Deviant Art has become. I really thought that this was a community for artist of all media to come together for the betterment of the art world. Now how is this possible when we have to pay a monthly fee just to comment on another artist's work? Or to search the archives? That is just . . . .ludicrous and highway robbery. I guess the developers and owners of this site really don't give a damn about us anymore, their cash cows(percentile profits made from each sale) could only be milked dry so many times before they had to take away our voice.
